Dave Newman  Dave Newman is a self-taught artist who has painted mixed media for over 30 years. Originally from Anaheim, California, Dave moved to Arizona and now resides outside Santa Fe, NM. This painting is part of Dave “Matchbook Chief Series and used acrylic painting on board. This painting is of an American Indian Chief, and the headdress is made of old license plates cut out to resemble feathers. He travels all across the Southwest collecting relics to repurpose his artwork.
